District Red Cross Society has launched a cradle scheme from 01-01-2008. A Pangoora was installed at main gate of Red Cross Bhawan along with electric bell. It has been observed that moral values in the society are declining and crime rate is alarming day by day. Due to this menace the subject of illegal/unwanted newly born babies is challenging a new problem in the society. It has been noticed that such babies are often thrown in bushes or in dustbins where such babies are endangered to their life by the stray dogs. This is a great sin and is against all values and norms of the society. Keeping in view this menace, Distt. Red Cross Society, Amritsar has come forward and has launched a Cradle on 01-01-2008.
In response, 189 children have been received in Pangoora so far and after making all formalities / paper work, these children have been shifted to Shishu Grah Trust Jalandhar and Swami Ganga Nand Bhuri Wale International Foundation Dham Village -Talwandi Khurd Ludhiana for their further legal adoption under LAPA (Legal Adoption and Placement Agency).
